Finding time for date night!

So, you’re looking to add a bit of romance to your relationship. You have the desire, the imagination and the will. You want to connect with your partner and rekindle the spark that used to flow so easily between you. Maybe you’ve even researched the best romantic date nigh ideas for couples. You’re ready to go.

There’s just one little problem. You have kids.

You love your children to bits. They are one of your reasons for being and you connect with your spouse on a much deeper level because of their very existence. They enrich your life on so many levels- but they definitely don’t enrich your dating prospects!

When you have kids, you’re probably exhausted at the end of the day. You’re busy. You can’t exactly go out on a whim anymore, and it feels like a simple date night has become something impossibly complex.

If you’re in this situation, you know how exhausting and depressing this can feel. Luckily- we have you covered. Read on for 10 ways to squeeze in date night on the regular (and rekindle that spark!).

  1. Schedule a Playdate

This has got to be one of my favorite tips for squeezing in a fun date night. Schedule an evening playdate for your kids. Drop them off at their friend’s house and spend an evening with your partner. If you arrange this right, you can take turns hosting the playdate, so that you, and your friends, can all enjoy some kid-free time!

  1. Put the Kids to Bed Early

Many of the best date nights take place in your own home. Cheat the clock a little and put the kids to bed earlier. This will give you and your partner more time to enjoy each other’s company. If they have a screen-time limit, this is a good time to cheat and give them an extra hour or so. I can almost guarantee that they’ll be nice and quiet in their rooms.

  1. Schedule, Schedule, Schedule

This is obvious, but it can’t be said enough. Schedule in your date night! Make sure you have it all arranged, and scheduled in. Write it in your calendar if you need to. Treat it like an appointment or school function. Make it happen and don’t leave it to chance.

    4. Get Dressed Up (Yes, Really!)

Okay, hear me out. I know you’re pressed for time, exhausted and probably can’t even remember when you last got dressed up. But it’s worth it. Try out a new dress or invest in some sexy lingerie. Take the time to wash your hair and spritz on perfume and put on the cleanest clothes that you have. It might seem like a lot of effort, but you’ll feel like a whole new person. Try it- you might just find it works wonders.

  1. Cook a Grown-Up Meal Together (Throw in Some Wine!)

When was the last time you did this? Most meals consist of kid-friendly dishes, or left-overs, if you’re lucky. This time go all out. Put the kids to bed early, grab some great ingredients and get cooking. Sip on a bottle of good wine and let the conversation flow as you make dinner together. When you’re finished, enjoy the fruits of your labor, as well as some quality time.

  1. Read Aloud To Each Other

Maybe you’re absolutely exhausted and none of these ideas are really cutting it for you. If you just can’t muster up the energy- don’t fight it. Curl up into bed and grab a book. Instead of binging on Netflix, enjoy some romantic, quality time by reading aloud to each other before falling asleep in each other’s arms. (If you’re looking to spice things up instead, here’s a list of the best erotic stories on the web. You’re welcome.)

  1. Play a Game Together

This one is great, because you can tailor it to you as a couple. Maybe you’re really into video games. Maybe you prefer a good old-fashioned game of scrabble. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could even play a game of strip poker. It’s cheap, customizable, accessible and fun. What else do you need?

  1. Go Outside

Yes, really! Even if you’re home with the kids, you can always slip outside and enjoy the night air together. Go onto a patio, balcony or into your own back yard. Grab some chairs, a blanket and enjoy each other’s company. Stargaze, or snuggle- whatever works for you.

  1. Sick Leave (Shh!)

Desperate times call for desperate measures, but don’t tell your boss that you heard this from us. Take a sick day with your partner, and spend it doing whatever you want. It’s not technically a date night, but if your children are in school, or day care, then this might just be the solution. Co-ordinate it with your partner and make the most of this naughty idea.

  1. Hit the Town

If you do find yourself with some time on your hands (kid-free, of course), then a great idea is to hit the town. Go catch a movie, go out for coffee and just enjoy each other’s company. Your city is probably full of amazing things- take full advantage of that. Exploring together is a great way to reconnect.

And don’t forget to treat yourself with a piece of Erotic Lingerie or Elegant Lingerie coupled with a body harness fashion lingerie or body chain fashion lingerie!
